Artist's Comments

Tissue papier mache, spray paint, pencil, and acrylic on wood. 2'x3'

This is my favorite painting to date. It's simple and minimal, and I love its colors.

Awesome! This is so great, i mean usually when objects break the border like that it is either a> really bad and looks horrible or B> really powerful. Obviously this is B. I like the simplicity and how it is slightly off center. Its as if you were holding the balloon. :D

simple...true but need more detail in certain way......maybe some gasso(dunno how to spell) as texture!!!

less is more + nice and simple

What a great review. Yes, I initially wanted to have someone holding the balloon at the bottom of the painting, but I realized I just wanted to leave that part open to the interpretation.

Awesome yes! I think it was good choice to leave it open, very cool!

I agree, it's very beautiful. I'm a sucker for simple things. This reminds me of a movie I saw a few times when I was much littler called "The Red Balloon." A boy has a red balloon; it's almost like his friend. He loses it in the end, so it's kind of a sad movie. There is no dialogue. Simple like your painting.

Quite beautiful, lovely colors and textures!
